NEW HORIZONS BAND – “DREAMS” DO COME TRUE!

If  you are fifty years of age or older and have ALWAYS had the desire to play a musical instrument or you played an instrument many years ago, here’s an OPPORTUNITY to make your DREAM come true.

What is “New Horizons”?

The New Horizons Band (NHB) is living proof that, when it comes to learning to play a musical instrument, it truly is “never too late”.   The NHB concept, the result of a ground breaking music course at the University of Rochester’s (NY) Eastman School of Music, has become a popular performing ensemble in communities across the U.S., enticing amateur musicians ranging in age from their early fifties into their nineties.

The “Bluegrass State Band” – Kentucky’s premier New Horizons ensemble, is beginning its third year with open enrollment for the Fall 2009 semester.  Classes will be held on Saturday mornings from 10am – noon at Central Music Academy in Lexington.  Tuition for the course is $80.00 (not including instrument rental – available through Don Wilson Music).  All adults over 50 are welcome.  Wind, brass and percussion instruments only, please.

Why join? Learning music provides intellectual stimulation, can benefit emotional and physical well being, allows an outlet for creativity, and provides an opportunity for social involvement.

COME AND MAKE MUSIC WITH US.   MAKE YOURDREAM”  COME TRUE!
